Questions

Laser tattoo removal is usually described as a hot stinging or pinging sensation on the surface of the skin. Everybody is different however, and some clients are even pleasantly surprised that the treatments are less uncomfortable than expected. A topical anesthetic can also be applied up to 1 hour before the treatment to help numb the area and make the treatment much more tolerable.

The required number of treatments required for each tattoo can vary significantly for a number of different reasons.  In our experience, a professional tattoo will take anywhere from 3 to 6 treatments to fully remove, while an amateur tattoo may only take 2 sessions to be gone completely.  If it’s only fading you’re after, you may only be looking at between 2 and 4 treatments depending on your cover up design.  We offer complimentary, obligation free consultations where we can take a closer look at your tattoo, perform a patch test, and determine a realistic number of sessions required.

Because we use the most advanced laser available, we can generally complete your tattoo removal in 40% fewer treatments than other providers.  The number of treatments depends on your tattoo.  Contact us today and tell us about your tattoos.  You can even send us a photo.  We’ll let you know what it will take.

This is a very common question from our clients as there has been mixed information given about this in the past.  The chance of scarring is extremely minimal if treatments are performed safely and if you follow aftercare instructions very carefully.  We are committed to our clients' absolute safety and will ensure all treatments are performed safely and within your skin’s boundaries without compromising on results.

You sure can.  People look to have their tattoos removed for many different reasons. Some of these reasons include change in tastes and trends, having an old flame’s name removed, a career switch, spelling mistake, or simply clearing more space for new ink.  For some, it’s simply a case of disliking an original design, so a cover-up is preferable.  In this circumstance, we are able to significantly fade your tattoo rather than remove it all together.  This means you are less restricted when it comes to your new design and you are more likely to be left with a new tattoo you’ll love indefinitely!

When it comes to laser tattoo removal, time is your friend.  After the laser has done its job and shattered the ink beneath your skin’s surface, it is then up to your body to naturally filter out the shattered particles of ink.  This process can’t be sped up --- therefore it is not recommended to have your treatments any closer together than at least 6 weeks.  If a treatment is performed within this time, it may not be of any benefit and therefore a waste of your money.  It may also cause damage to the tissue with the possibility of scarring.

At the conclusion of your first treatment with us, you will be supplied with a complimentary aftercare kit and detailed post treatment information.  Immediately after the treatment you can expect the area to feel tender and warm, similar to a moderate sunburn.  Some patients experience some slight blistering, bruising or swelling, which is completely normal and should subside within the next 24 hours.  To assist your skin in healing without scarring, and to speed up recovery, it is important to follow the post care instructions.
